Upon our arrival at the pier, a private shuttle from Irene Resort awaited us. The shuttle, though simple and very “local”, was effective and fast. It whisked us away through the quaint island streets, giving us a glimpse of the local life and the laid-back atmosphere of Koh Lipe. The ride was a perfect introduction to the island's charm and hospitality.
Warm Welcome at Irene Resort
At Irene Resort, we were welcomed with open arms. The staff greeted us warmly, offering cold towels to refresh ourselves after the long journey. A true relief with such extreme heat! Also, they served us a delicious butterfly pea tea drink and some tasty ice cream, which was a delightful and unexpected treat. This thoughtful and unique welcome made us feel instantly at home and set the tone for our stay.

Irene Resort is located on Sunrise Beach, which is arguably the best beach on Koh Lipe for witnessing stunning sunrises. Every morning, we woke up early to watch the sky light up with vibrant colors as the sun rose over the horizon. The burning reds, oranges, and pinks reflected on the calm waters created a breathtaking spectacle. The quiet atmosphere of Sunrise Beach in the early morning made these moments truly special and magical.
The Elegant Pool Villa and Irene Resort In-Room Dining Service
The highlight of our stay at Irene Resort was our incredibly elegant pool villa. The villa was beautiful, well decorated with top-quality materials and an eye for detail. Also, it featured a private pool and deck with a comfortable sofa, perfect for lounging while taking in the sea view. Inside, it had a huge and comfy bed that ensured restful nights. The mini bar was well stocked, including an espresso machine for our morning coffee fix. Moreover, the bathroom was spacious, with a large shower and a luxurious bathtub.
But the most amazing aspect of our villa was the direct access to the beach. We could step out of our villa and onto the soft, white sand within seconds. Its charming wooden style added a touch of elegance and warmth, making it feel like a luxurious home away from home.
One of the perks of staying in such a wonderful villa was definitely the in-room dining service - speedy and efficient - that allowed us to enjoy several meals in the privacy and comfort of our villa. We dined in a beautiful setting around us, which made every meal feel special and intimate, and showed us one of the reasons why Irene Resort is certainly the best 5-star resort in Koh Lipe.
Dining at Buke'tto Restaurant
The resort restaurant, Buke'tto, right on the beach, offered a stunning view of the sea as we dined. The menu featured a mix of international and Thai dishes. For lunch, we often chose the Buke'tto and Buddha bowls, which were healthy and delicious mixed salad bowls. Dinner was a culinary delight with dishes like Kao Soi (a northern Thai dish), Pad Thai with shrimp, and duck confit with Italian gnocchi and parmesan truffle sauce. The flavors were incredible, and each dish was prepared with the finest ingredients. Additionally, having lived in Thailand for over three years, we can confidently say that this Pad Thai was one of the best we’ve ever had.

Breakfast at Irene Resort was a daily highlight. The breakfast sets offered a variety of options, including eggs cooked to order, fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, and fresh juices. Each morning, we enjoyed our breakfast with a stunning view of the azure waters of Koh Lipe. The combination of delicious food and breathtaking scenery made for a perfect and energizing start to our days.
